Ophelia

In my opinion Ophelia was one wacked out woman as the play goes on. She was so wrapped up in love she didnt know what to believe. I think Shakespear intended for Ophelia to be a push over that listened and did what anyone told  her to do. I think the reason for her madness was simply love. She loved Hamlet so much and when he told her that he never loved her it broke her heart. She was drivin with anger and didnt know what to do with herself. I dont feel sorry for Ophelia because she was a spy and a snitch and got what she deserved. How could you snitch  on your loved one who your suppose to be there for through thick and thin. I dont think she drowned herself in all her madness she wasnt careful and fell and killed herself. I think Gertrude watched her dimise and did nothing. THERE YOU GO MS. MERGOTTT =]

LOL. THANKS D'MARCUS. You present an interesting perspective on Ophelia, in referencing her 'snitching' on Hamlet. She does allow herself to be part of the spying by Claudius and Polonius. Do you think she does it out of concern? I mean, Hamlet is starting to appear mentally ill. Or do you think that she had any choice in disobeying her father and the king? Maybe she should have, you're right. I'm just not sure whether a girl in her position at that time had the option to do so.
